Lorraine and I met when we were working together at a hair Replacement company. We could tell our joint passion for all things hair would be a bond and we still continue to share creative ideas. I’m pleased to say we hit it off straight away and continue to work together 10 years later! I just can’t seem to shake her off!
I am inspired greatly by the strength of clients I work with. Many who would be experiencing hair loss through Alopecia, Chemotherapy treatment, radiation or any form of thinning hair. Each individual has their own story to tell and their own journey.
I greatly admire the love they have with their family support and feel privileged to be a part of their journey and positive self image.
I started my career as a hairdresser and quite by accident met a wonderful Wig maker who after months of pestering him he took me on and trained me how to hand make wigs and facial hair. After many years creating wigs for Theatrical and Opera productions I ventured into the hair replacement and wig fitting profession.
I get a great sense of pride being able to pass on directly the knowledge I have gained over many years to help people. Either on a one to one basis or giving talks in the community.
A favourite part of my job is using all my skills to come up with a hair solution for each individual. One day it could be matching a wig in density, colour and style to replicate someone’s own hair and the next day I could be hand making a fine hair piece or demonstrating how to define eyebrows on someone who doesn’t have any. The diversity of my work is what keeps me on my toes so being challenged to think on my toes puts a fire in my step!
To have such a talented, knowledgeable and funny hairdresser friend as Lorraine I count myself very lucky, between us and our strong network of friends we give support and confidence to each other which I feel is very important in this day and age, many of us can just pick up the phone and know we fire ideas around or just have a friend to listen.
