How did we meet?
My first memory of meeting the fabulous Lorraine is in a beautiful venue we were both working in called Clonabreany House not far from me. As a wedding supplier I’m always working alongside some great bridal hair stylists and Lorraine was so chatty and friendly and instantly we clicked, she was a face I began to meet regularly and I’m always so happy to see her at a wedding I’m working at.
What Inspires you?
What inspires me is a question I had to think about a bit but what really inspires me to do this job is that feeling of hope you can give girls who may have confidence issues and are faced with the biggest day of their lives at this point in time and its so gratifying to know that they place their whole trust in you on that special morning, I look to other makeup artists for creative inspiration as I feel we are always learning from each other and that can only be a good thing.
How did you break into the industry?
Makeup was always a passion of mine from a young age, I was always messing around doing friends makeup and to be really honest it was never something I actually thought I could make a career out of back 20 years ago so I always say it followed me, “fell into my lap” so to speak and as soon as the penny dropped and I found my niche in the market, I put 110% into the business and never looked back specialising in bridal.
I always remind myself “You’re only as good as your last wedding or makeover” and that keeps me on my toes and not to get complacent.
What is the favourite part of your job?
Oh I know this one, its so easy, that moment when I see the Bride in her dress that’s always the wow moment for me, I’m a girly girl so looking at the shoes, the perfume all the lovely shiny things on a wedding morning, Oh my god the flowers!, always love seeing the flowers arrive.
